Cancellation / Missed appointments

You will be charged a $25 fee if you miss an appointment. This fee must be paid prior to booking any future appointment. Extenuating circumstances will be considered. Please contact us as soon as you know you will no longer be able to attend your appointment.

Zero Tolerance Policy
Nelson Medical Clinic has a zero tolerance policy regarding any abuse or aggression towards our staff. Our front staff are trained to help patients and we make every effort to make your visit pleasant and comfortable. We are completely supportive of our staff and neither the doctor nor management will tolerate any rude or aggressive behavior. Individuals violating our policy will be immediately denied service, asked to leave the clinic and depending on the circumstances could be banned and removed as a patient from the clinic.

E-Mail
Due to the insecure nature of e-mail communication, we DO NOT currently use email as a means of communication with the public or patients regarding questions or issues of a medical nature, to establish physican/patient relationship; to book or cancel appointments; or for inquiries regarding fees, services or similar matters.

E-mail communications regarding such matters will not be responded to and will be discarded unread. If you wish to contact us regarding medical questions or issues or with regard to appointments, accounts or other questions please do so by telephone, fax or regular mail.

Prescription Renewal
We do not renew prescriptions without an appointment, so be sure to make an appointment to see your family doctor at least 2 weeks before you run out.

Appointment Requirements and Reminders
We will do our very best to book you a timely appointment, either as a phone consultation with one of our doctors or an in-clinic visit.

Since booking your in-office appointment, if have you developed any of the following symptoms OR been in contact with a confirmed or suspected case of Covid 19 OR traveled out of the country in the last 14 days, please call our office and reschedule your appointment.

Mask and Hand Sanitizing Policy
To align with Kootenay Lake Hospital and Interior Health, Nelson Medical Clinic is requesting that all patients and visitors to the clinic wear a mask.  Hand sanitizing or hand washing is mandatory upon entry.  We are accepting any kind of mask (ie cloth, K95, or medical grade) and will happily provide you with a mask upon entry to the clinic.
